This program aims to prepare the trainees to perform safe and consistent application of NDT techniques. The trainees will be required to check that the equipment complies with the specification requirements, is safe to use, fit for purpose and that it has been correctly calibrated. The Trainees sets up and adjusts the equipment, carries out the specified tests using the correct procedures, according to the non-destructive testing (NDT) instructions and requirements, and observe and record the test indications. They are also expected to analyze results and draw/communicate conclusions in accordance with the relevant Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) procedures.
The purpose of this program is also about the verification of tests and calibration of instrumentation and control equipment and circuits, in accordance with approved procedures. They will be required to carry out verification work on tests and calibrations on a range of instrumentation equipment to establish that they are functioning at optimal level and to specification. Trainees of this program are also expected to implement a quality control system and procedures, in accordance with approved procedures, and the determination and communication of the quality control recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
